Emory University School of Law is a first-tier U.S. law school, part of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. It is currently ranked #22 amongst all ABA approved law schools according to the 2009 US News and World Report rankings. In 2007, Vault.com ranked Emory as the most underrated law school in the U.S. [1]. The first dean of the school was Tennessee judge Samuel Cole Williams.

The School of Law offers a three-year, full-time program leading to a Juris Doctor degree. In partnership with Central European University, Emory provides a LLM program for students with a U.S. law degree seeking advanced training in international commercial law and international politics. Emory also has a separate LLM program for qualified foreign professionals seeking training in international and comparative law[2].
Emory Law is particularly known for its expertise in Bankruptcy law, Environmental law, Feminist Law, Intellectual Property Law, International law, and Law and Religion.

Admission for the Juris Doctor program is competitive. The 2007-2008 admissions statistics boast a 26% acceptance rate. The entering 1L class shares a median LSAT score of 164 and a median GPA of 3.42[3].

Emory Law is increasingly known for its commitment to diversity. Nearly half of students are women and roughly 30% are minorities. Emory’s national reputation is also significant: Approximately 60% of students come from outside the Southeast[4].

Emory has a large, active, and diverse group of organizations that students can get involved with including, among others, the Asian American Law Students Association, Environmental Law and Conservation Society, Black Law Student Association, Emory Federalist Society, Emory Gay and Lesbian Advocates, Legal Association for Women Students, Hispanic Law Society, International Law Society, and the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy.
In addition, Emory's public interest group, the Emory Public Interest Committee, is very active. EPIC coordinates volunteer opportunities for students, hosts an annual public interest law conference, and hosts an annual award ceremony (Inspiration Awards) honoring outstanding local attorneys dedicated to public interest. Through the Inspiration Awards and other fundraising, EPIC is able to give grants to law students participating in unpaid summer internships.
A team from Emory's TI:GER technology program, in coordination with Georgia Tech, was recently featured on CNN Money.
