eMagin Corporation positions itself as a leader in personal display systems and Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) microdisplay technologies. The company manufactures its microdisplays on silicon wafers, which also accommodate signal processing and data-buffering. This approach makes eMagin's microdisplays both compact and power-efficient.
The company also integrates its high-resolution microdisplays with magnifying optics to produce a virtual image, which appears comparable to that of a computer monitor or a large-screen television. eMagin microdisplays have been incorporated into numerous near-eye imaging products for military, industrial, medical and consumer products. The company's first personal display system, the Z800 3DVisor, combines 3D stereovision and headtracking with sound and voice capabilities. It is used for PC gaming, training and simulation, and therapeutic applications.
For programmers desiring to work with the 3DVisor, eMagin has released a Software Development Kit (SDK) ver. 2.2 that can be acquired through the 3DVisor website, via email. The SDK contains well written documentation, code, and examples, even in the .net platform.
