From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Elton-on-the-Hill is a small village in the Vale of Belvoir, about 14 miles East of Nottingham, England. It contains two roads, Station road to the North of the A52 and Sutton Lane to the South, Sutton being the nearest village on the southern side. Elton has a population of about 80. It has two pubs and one church but no other public buildings. The Medieval church is named St. Michael and All Angels and the nearest station to the village is the Elton and Orston railway station. The village straddles the A52.
There used to be a manor house, with extensive grounds, in the village; but this was demolished in the early part of the Twentieth Century.
