Eloy Palacios, (June 27, 1847 - December 12, 1919), was a Venezuelan artist, sculptor and painter.
Was born in Maturín, Monagas, Venezuela being part of one of the richest families of the Venezuelan eastern, these circumstances, as well as his natural talent, allowed him to study in Germany from 1857, polishing the talent that would bring to him fame in Europe and Latin America.
Palacios returned to Venezuela in 1873, tried to create the Faculty of Sculpture at the Central University of Venezuela, having no success. In 1874 President Antonio Guzmán Blanco was offended by a painting that Palacios did of him, for this reason Palacios exiles in Trinidad, Costa Rica and Germany, where established a factory in 1877.
Eloy Palacios dies at Havana, Cuba on December 12, 1919.
