Elissa is a Canadian dance music singer and record producer from Toronto, Ontario.
A native of Toronto, Canada, Elissa has been contributing to the music scene since the tender age of six. Her talents have led her to tour across North America in cities such as Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, San Antonio, San Diego, Miami and New York to name a few, earning Elissa faithful fans where ever she goes.
Elissa turned heads in North America with her first freestyle hit single “Show Me How You Love Me”, where she enjoyed huge radio success across Canada and the United States through Metropolitan and Ti Amo Records. In 1996, “Show Me How You Love Me” bubbled under the Billboards Hot 100 Singles Chart. Another of Elissa’s hit singles, “Bailando”, was one of the most requested songs on radio, receiving heavy airplay. It charted on both National CHR and Dance Charts.
Elissa’s release “ Mamboleo” was a Top 20 Hit on the National Canadian CHR Charts and debut as the #6 top selling single in Canada in late 1999, early 2000. “Mamboleo’s” release earned Elissa a heavy rotation ad on Kiss 98.5 FM Buffalo across the border from her hometown.
Her greatest achievement for the year 2000 is holding the #1 position with her freestyle single “Back To Me” on Toronto’s Hit Music Station Z103.5 FM Freestyle Frenzy program. She also received great support and heavy weekend rotation during Johnny Budz mix show on WKTU 103.5 FM New York.
The year 2001 held promise for this rising young star. Mamboleo earned Elissa her first of two Canadian Music Radio Award nominations for Best New Solo Artist and Best Rhythmic/R&B Artist. “Back To Me” was a #1 record in Brazil, signing Elissa’s hot single to dance label Spottlight Records.
In 2002 her single; “The Light” won a Canadian Indies Award and a nomination for a Canadian Juno Award in the Best Dance Recording Category.
Elissa has had continued success in Canada with her dance releases and was ready to take on the world. As her project release Radikal DJs “If Tomorrow Never Comes” bubbled off the airwaves in Canada & Asia, her release “Dream” charted on Singapore Hit Radio FM Station WKRZ 91.3 FM's year end countdown for 2005.
In 2006, Elissa took the U.S. by storm, her single featuring Russ Castella titled "Truth", has hit the promotional circuit with high demands from U.S. Disc Jockey's.
After a successful 12 years in the business, Elissa is back with her Greatest Hits CD “I’m With The DJ”. Dedicated to all of the Disc Jockeys who have influenced her music over the years.
I’m With The DJ: Greatest Hits features top dance producers from Europe and the same production team that put together Canadian Artist Fito Blanko’s CHR Hits. It includes all of her chart topping hits as well as new productions that are already making noise in countries such as Germany & Russia. It is available at all Sunrise Records Locations and online at various media websites. She ended 2007 on various dance charts in Russia with her single released with the Italian production team EU4YA. "Tanti Auguri" was released on 8 dance complations including an MTV CD alongside Cristina Aguilera, Crystal Waters, JoJo, Akon and many more.
Although she is a very busy girl, Elissa contributes to the dance music scene by co-producing and writing for dance artists in Canada and around the world.
Dance music is in this stars blood and 2008 will prove to be an entertaining year for Elissa so stay tuned!
