Eitan Cabel (Hebrew: איתן כבל, born 23 August 1959) is an Israeli politician, Knesset Member and current General Secretary of the Israeli Labour Party.
Appointed Minister without Portfolio responsible for the Israel Broadcasting Authority in Ehud Olmert's government on 4 May 2006, Cabel resigned from his post on 1 May 2007, the day after the Winograd Commission released its findings. In his resignation speech, he called for Olmert to step down, stating: "Ehud Olmert must resign... [he] bears the responsibility [for the 2006 Lebanon War], and responsibility cannot be shared." [1]
