Eishockeyclub München or simply EHC München is a professional ice hockey club based in Munich, Germany. It was formed on 19 January 1998. The men's first team played in the 2.Bundesliga for the first time in the 2005/06 season.
The men's second team, first formed for the 2004/05 season in the district league (the 6th playing class), was promoted in the second year of its existence and played the 2006/2007 season in the national league.
For the 2005/06 season the club announced teams for all age classes.

[edit] 1998/99
After the establishment of the club in 1998, Munich began to play in the district league. In the first year they made the ascent into the national league.
Their matches were played at Prince Regent Stadium.

In the 1999/00 session Munich reached second place in the national league, which meant that they qualified to the ascent round, which they secured as the second, and ascended into the Bavaria league.

In May of 2004, the EHC Munich Spielbetriebs GmbH (whose majority partner was a president of the association) was eliminated.
