[edit] LukeTheSpook*

LukeTheSpook (talk ยท contribs) I've been a Wikipedian for a while now and when i first started out, i didn't quite understand wikipedia and had a breif stint as a vandal. I have since been reformed and pretty much work on editing wikipedia at least an hour a day. It's become an addiction. Some of my edits may not be the greatest or may have been reverted (good faith edits of course). One thing i try and work on is getting New articles for wikipedia. Some of the articles i am most proud of are Page 44 and Trey Lewis. I would like to be reviewed as an editor to see what other wikipedians think of my contributions to this wonderful place LukeTheSpook (talk) 00:54, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

  • This user needs to read and understand our fair use policy at WP:NFCC. In particular this editor has wrongfully placed fair use media back onto userboxes in violation of this policy. Examples: [1][2] --Hammersoft (talk) 05:18, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
In those situations, i wasn't putting the same images that were removed back into the userbox, but simple finding a newer image since a blank space in a userbox just doesn't look good. [lukethespook] | [t c r] 10:55, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
  • As I said, you need to read and understand our fair use policy. It wasn't that you were putting images onto the userbox, it was that the fair use images are not permitted on userboxes. And really, userboxes mean nothing to the project. Whether or not one looks good or not has nothing to do with the purpose of this project. --Hammersoft (talk) 18:55, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Well, I've Read WP:NFCC and i still think there should be a WP:DontGetYourPantiesInABunch for editors like Hammersoft who are really stiff when it comes to the policy of photos. I mean come on.....[LukeTheSpook] | [t c r] 08:15, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
  • User needs to acquaint himself better with WP:CSD. I today received a notification from him of an article which he had placed a speedy tag on, claiming criterion A1. The article in question, Laulii, may be a stub, but has plenty of context and is on a subject (a village) which would normally fly through AfD as a snowball keep (speedying was declined by another editor and the tag removed, BTW). Grutness...wha? 10:06, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Ditto for the tagging of Prostitution in Iceland: I'd be surprised if it didn't speedy survive an AfD, but it's certainly not a case for A1. Olaf Davis | Talk 15:24, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Yes, it the time, i had not fully read WP:CSD, but now I Have. Also, the articles where for some reason listed as an A-class article, yet they were less than a paragraph long. They should probally all be merged into a new article, about prostitution by country, because they are too short for there own articles, in my opinion. - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 22:50, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
The Article Page 44 wich i created and Trey Lewis wich i greatly expanded. Also Washburn Rural High School. Also Stevan Dion Clark & Monte Bennett
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
To have stress caused from wikipedia would be bad. Wikipedia is a stress releiver for me. I have been in some edit conflicts in the past, mostly over little things like a band's subgenre of music or categories an article belongs to. Most of the time I'll see that the other person is correct and stop reverting the edits. In the future i plan to a.) learn how to capatilze my "i's" naturaly when i type and b.) handle conflicts in the same way with dignity as i have in the past.
