Edith Lefel

Edith Lefel (November 1963, Cayenne - 20 January 2003, Dreux) was a French singer born in French Guiana. She grew up in Martinique and has become a popular zouk-love singer. Her popular career began in 1984, when she worked with Jean-Michel Cabrimol's Maffia. She began working with the big band Malavoi in 1987. Her last recent album came out in 2002, and used elements of beguine, mazurka and merengue. She died in her sleep. Autopsy results revealed a combination of smoking and birth control pills as the cause of her demise.
