Edward "Ed" Westwick (born June 27, 1987) is an English actor best known for his role as Chuck Bass on the American television series Gossip Girl. He is also the lead singer of the English rock band The Filthy Youth.

[edit] Biography

Westwick attended St Ippolyts Church of England Primary School and the Barclay School in Stevenage, England. He was attending North Herts College, when he made his first film, Breaking and Entering (directed by the late Anthony Minghella).

Westwick trained at the National Youth Theatre in London. He sings in a band, The Filthy Youth, comprised of Westwick, Benjamin Lewis Allingham, Jimmy Wright, Tom Bastiani, and John Vooght.[1] He appeared on the British television series Doctors (as "Holden"), Casualty (as "Johnny Cullin") and Afterlife (as "Darren"). His film credits include Breaking and Entering, Children of Men and Son of Rambow. He has also been cast in the sequel to Donnie Darko.

When filming Gossip Girl, Westwick resides in New York's Chelsea neighbourhood, where he shares an apartment with co-star Chace Crawford.[1] When not filming, Westwick lives outside of London, and also enjoys regularly attending Loftus Road, the home of English football team Queens Park Rangers F.C. Until recently Westwick was dating a young woman named Louise, however due to distance and filming commitments their relationship has ended. Westwick is currently single.
