DynoWeasel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

DynoWeasel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

DynoWeasel started off as a primitive rock band. It was made during the Underground Boston Rock Revitalization Movement In the Early 1960s. It was the first of many UBRRM bands and was the most influential. Its influence can be found in most prominent rock bands today. DynoWeasel was the first band to perfect the 2x2x2 format (2 singers 2 drummers 2 guitars). Although DynoWeasel fizzled out by 1966 its remnants would later go on to form Metallica. Great DynoWeasel lyricist Dave Fitzmaurice came out of retirement to write the Metallica classic Ride the Lighting. Also Lead Singers Ben Campbell and Jerry Stokes were the basis for the name of the popular ice cream chain " Ben and Jerry's" According to Ben & Jerry's, the ice cream chain is named after the founders, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, who have no relation to this band. They are also remembered for their live performance in Paris during the summer of '65. The riot that ensued the concert lasted for three days and forced the French government to pass the Outdoor Event Act of '66 (The Outdoor Event Act prevented any gathering of more than 35,000 people in France without government permission).

DynoWeasel is remembered today for their innovative use of different instrumental and vocal skills and combining them into a cohesive band. Although only the album Dynomite! was released, it included several cult classics including DynoWeasel Delight, Snowy Days, and The Rough Seas. Although DynoWeasel's career was short lived its memory lives on through the songs of Metallica and the other bands that were affected by DynoWeasel.

DynoWeasel's drummer Mitch Summers was the founder of the now excavated theme park which was called Dyno Weasel Mountain of Adventure. It was one of the first theme parks to sell cotton candy, and is the model for the theme parks of today. Some people believe that Cotton Candy was invented in 1904 and introduced at the St. Louis World's Fair as Fairy Floss. These same people believe that this "Fairy Floss" was available at theme parks as early as the 1930s or 1940s.

Dave Fitzmaurice's son went on the become a legend in the world of competitive ice cream sandwich eating. His nickname in the sport was Mr. Glass. After his retirement, he had earned a total of $754.25 in the sport, shattering the previous record of $47.80. With the money he earned, he plans on creating a very detailed life-sized sculpture of Luis Scola in the nude. This sculpture will be made out of ice cream sandwiches, and he will attempt to eat it in under 30 seconds.
