Duke Peter Alexandrovich of Oldenburg

Peter Alexandrovich of Oldenburg (Peter Friedrich Georg von Holstein-Gottorp, Duke of Oldenburg) (21 November 1868 - 11 March 1924) was the first husband of Czar Nicholas II's youngest sibling, Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna of Russia and a member of the famed House of Oldenburg.
He was born in Saint Petersburg, the only child of imperial relatives, Her Imperial Highness Eugenie of Leuchtenberg (1845-1925) and His Imperial Highness Duke Alexander Petrovich of Oldenburg (1844-1932). His mother was a granddaughter of Emperor Nicholas I (through Nicholas' daughter, Maria Nikolayevna), and his father was a great-grandson of Emperor Paul I of Russia through his paternal grandmother Grand Duchess Catherine Pavlovna of Russia.
Peter married, on 9 August 1901, Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna of Russia (1882-1960), the youngest sister of Nicholas II of Russia. The marriage ended in divorce on 16 October 1916, unconsumated and presumably due to Duke Peter being homosexual. He married a second time, on 3 May 1922, to Olga Vladimirovna Ratkova-Rognova (1878-1929). There were no children from either marriage.
Duke Peter survived the Russian revolution of 1917, and died in 1924.
