[edit] Ducky is a Parasaurolphus
M'kay people, would you PLEASE stop changing her species designation? Yes, Ducky more closely resembles a Saurolophus. However, she is consistantly reffered to as a Parasaurolophus in official material, such as TLBT DVD extras and the official site. She's merely misidentified, like the "Raptors" in Jurassic Park- which are still referred to as Velociraptor, rather then Deinonychus, which they more closely resemble.
Calling her anything else is original research, which wikipedia forbids, kthnxbai.

[edit] Are you sure?
I haven't seen the Land Before Time Sing-along-songs original in about ten or eight years, but I seem to recall that they mentioned that Ducky was a Saurolophus. They might have said Parasaurolophus, though. Does this constitute official material? Wilhelmina Will (talk) 23:32, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Dookie.JPG
Image:Dookie.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Possible external link:
Perhaps this link might make a good addition to the article: [1]. It will only be included, of course, if links to fansites for fictional characters are allowed on encyclopedia articles. Otherwise, please do not bother. Wilhelmina Will (talk) 07:18, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism:
There appears to be a fair amount of this on this article. Just today I've spotted two small acts, one fixed by someone else, the other by myself. I'm new at this, but is there anything that can be done?

- Pretty much just remove the most obvious instances, tag ones you aren't sure about for needing a citation using {{citation}}, and remove any new ones when added. Collectonian (talk) 21:55, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Land Before Time Species
I'm thinking of making a page, not sure what to call it yet, of all of the terms within "The Land Before Time" and what they relate too. For example, there would be "Swimmer", and this would relate to species such as the Parasaurolphus. Thoughts please. Clawandfang (talk) 23:43, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- That would not be appropriate as it fails WP:FICT and would be considered fan-cruft and excessive plot detail. Terms should be given brief explanation, as needed, when used within the article, but the series does not need a glossary. Collectonian (talk) 23:46, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

- Okay, thanks. I wasn't sure, which is why I thought to ask first. Do we really need the "Swimmer" link in this article then? The pages it takes you to is unrelated.Clawandfang (talk) 21:05, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

- Nope, that link should be removed. Collectonian (talk) 21:22, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
