[edit] GP vs RR bikes

Seems to me the D16 RR bike should have a separate article, linked from here. Having more than a reference to it here in the racing bike article is misplaced. izaakb ~talk ~contribs 17:28, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Support - Agreed. In fact I was on the brim of doing it some time ago before this talk started.
Support - I agree. I added the split template in the article Chris Ssk talk 01:34, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Oppose - It's a variation of the race bike. We don't create article for hybrid versions of vehicles (such as Chrysler Aspen and Chrysler Aspen Hybrid). Same concept applies here. It simply gets mentioned in the article as another section. I think separation of two very closely related subjects anytime on Wikipedia is a bad thing because it opens up a lot of possibilities for inconsistencies. Roguegeek (talk) 06:22, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Support - Yeah, more than a reference here does seem misplaced. --DavidD4scnrt (talk) 06:51, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Support - I totally agree to separate both entity. Ducati Desmosedici and Ducati Desmosedici RR are two separate bikes for different purposes. Ducati Desmosedici is solely for MotoGP and race build purpose. On the other hand, Ducati Desmosedici RR is for street oriented based sportbike. (THEunique (talk) 00:41, 14 April 2008 (UTC))
Support - I too would prefer to separate the articles. After all, primarily this is about prototype racing motorcycle in a class, where production components are for a large part prohibited. As for the street bike, I think that a tag among the lines "Not to be confused with Desmosedici RR, a road bike" (and vice versa) in the begining of the article should be sufficient to avoid confusion. --Thermos (talk) 12:08, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
