In the late 1980s Dubfunk first became interested in music. He was influenced by variety of Jazz and rock artists such as Nina Simone, The Doors, Jim Morrison, Simply Red, Led Zeppelin, and Nirvana.[citation needed] Dubfunk first DJ'd in the early 1990s at house parties in his home town. By the mid-1990s, he was performing at several big events and in local and national clubs for a variety of crowds.[citation needed] In 2004, Dubfunk became a main resident DJ for Pacha Sharm El Sheikh.[citation needed]
