Anyway, the point is that Wikipedia is not the place for "interpretations". Those count as "original research", which is not allowed. I'm afraid there is perhaps a slight problem with the article you created, The Paint. You have listed no references for this band, and a rather thorough google search returns zero results on any of the bands songs or members. Based on the statistitcs purported in your article, the band does seem to meet the criteria for notability for bands and musicians, but as such the very existence of the band is unverifiable. [edit] WikiProject Rock music invitation

Hello WikiProject Alternative music member.
WikiProject Alternative music, in my eyes, has proved to be successful "improving the encyclopaedic coverage of articles relating to alternative rock", and improving their quality as well. One specific example I have witnessed is The Smashing Pumpkins article. The page has gone from a mediocre work, to GA status, to FA nomination. Only appropriate, as the Pumpkins are undeniably one of the most influential alternative rock bands on the 1990's and beyond.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently ressurected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and not only be a member of alternative Wikipedians, but the rockin' ones as well.

I can make some follow-up suggestions here -

• I really think "massively" is just a bad word to use there; something more balanced, like "significantly" (although that word is overused on Wikipedia; I don't have a thesaurus handy) would be better.
• saying someone was outclassed is an opinion. You could state neutrally that a number of sources saw it that way (and it's good that you've got a source to back it up), but using "outclassed" as if it were a fact is POV.
• The whole first section is badly worded. It's opinionated, not well sourced, has an ungainly phrase "as a sense of Britishness", and needs apostrophes.
• Increase in Stature and Critical Reception could probably be combined into a single, better-flowing section.
• Why is black and white "classic"? At very least, this should be wikilinked to some article about film noir or something.
• It would be worth giving more context for the pro-British/anti-Americanism on display here. Is this something Albarn/the band talk about in interviews? Is there a political context outside of the poor reception on the tour? is this a consistent theme in their work?
• Reference 2 is blank.

Yeah, all this stuff is totally fixable; I think with some extra work this article has a clear shot at GA acceptance, but i definitely don't think it's ready yet. Chubbles 20:09, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Portal:Alternative music achieved featured portal status, thanks to Teemu08 and CloudNine. More editors are needed to keep the portal up to date. We collaborated on Red Hot Chili Peppers, Zen Arcade, Radiohead and New Order during the past month. Kate Bush, Butthole Surfers, "Today (song)", Californication (album) and "Tonight, Tonight" reached good article status.	New members Swidden, CattleGirl, UncleMontezuma, Dark Devil, RedHotRageSlave, Kudasai, Sjones23, Triviumchick1990 and Mr Richardson joined the alternative music ranks during April. I liked what you did with The Teacher, because although I created the page rather than just having an automatic redirect, it still bothered me you could see the name when hovering over the link. I don't know why it's been undone, I think it was a very good idea, however I wouldn't know how to do it myself, so could you please redo it? I watch the article very closely, so I will know if it happens again and if so then I will request protection for it, I've had a lot of trouble in the past with people just taking out the article and adding an auto-redirect. We now have 20 articles of featured quality. Well done to the various WP:RHCP editors, Xihix, Ceoil, WesleyDodds, and Teemu08. Kate Bush was featured on the Main Page on July 30. We collaborated on Meat Puppets, In Utero, "Touch Me I'm Sick", John Frusciante, and Zeitgeist (The Smashing Pumpkins album) during the past month. During the month of July, Sky Blue Sky, R.E.M. (band), "Monkey Gone to Heaven", A.M. (album), The Cure, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Wilco, Loose Fur, John Frusciante, A Ghost Is Born and Being There (album), a total of 11 articles, were promoted to good article status; a record month. We now have 33 GAs, out of a total of ~680 articles.

Well done to Brandt Luke Zorn, Teemu08, the various Pearl Jam editors, NSR77, Grim-Gym and Gocsa respectively. The discographies of The Make-Up, Neutral Milk Hotel, Nirvana, Lightning Bolt, The Breeders and John Frusciante all reached featured list status during the past month; a record month. Well done to Drewcifer3000, Brandt Luke Zorn (who both wrote two featured lists!) CloudNine, NSR77 and Grim-Gym. Blood Sugar Sex Magik was featured on the Main Page on September 24. We collaborated on Nirvana (band), Jimmy Chamberlin, Noel Gallagher and Courtney Love during the past month. During the month of September, Dream Days at the Hotel Existence, Era Vulgaris (album), Feeder (band), Harry and the Potters, "I Don't Remember", Kicking Television: Live in Chicago, Powderfinger, "Starlight" (song)" and Weezer (1994 album) were all promoted to good article status, a total of nine articles!

We collaborated on Nevermind, The Breeders, Alternative rock, Fugazi (band) and The Downward Spiral during the past month. During the month of October, Adam Clayton, One Hot Minute and Joey Santiago were promoted to good article status. There are two articles at prose review, Butthole Surfers and Radiohead. During the month of December, Slay Tracks (1933-1969), "These Days" (Powderfinger song), Transfusion (EP), Young Modern, Ian Svenonius, Trent Reznor, "Sunsets", Alice in Chains, David Lovering, Thrice, These Days: Live in Concert, Parables for Wooden Ears, Fingerprints: The Best of Powderfinger, 1994-2000, Odyssey Number Five, Vulture Street and Flea (musician), a total of 17 articles, were promoted to good article status; a record month. With the addition of Loveless (album) and Internationalist (album) (which were promoted to good and featured article status in the same month), this brings the total up to 19 GAs for December! Starting this month, the newsletter will contain a new feature that lists a recommended alternative rock album for project members to check out and help expand their knowledge of the genre. The discographies of Dischord Records and Load Records reached featured list status during the past month. Well done to Drewcifer3000 (who wrote both featured lists). Powderfinger discography reached featured topic status during the past month. Well done to the various WikiProject Powderfinger editors. We collaborated on Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Franz Ferdinand (band), PJ Harvey and Michael Stipe during the past month. During the month of January, Rage Against the Machine, Pick Up the Pace, "Lost and Running", Bernard Fanning, Year Zero (album), Jon Coghill, "Losing My Religion" and "Touch Me I'm Sick" were promoted to good article status. Sign up for our B-class article drive on the project talk page! The goal is to increase a number of the project's B-class articles to GA or FA status within two months.
