Drastic Fantastic is the second studio album by Scottish singer KT Tunstall. It was released by Virgin Records on September 10, 2007 in the United Kingdom and September 18, 2007 in the United States and Canada.[1] The album was leaked on P2P networks on September 3, 2007. "Hold On", the lead single was released on July 16, 2007 in the United States.
The album was expected to chart inside the top 5 on its release because it became one of the most downloaded albums in the week prior to its release, peaking at #2 on iTunes.[citation needed] On the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, Drastic Fantastic debuted at number nine, selling about 50,000 copies in its first week.[2]
In Scotland, KT beat both Kanye West and 50 Cent to make it to number 1 in the Scottish Album Charts.
Drastic Fantastic charted at #72 in the UK end of year chart selling around 225,000 copies in 2007.

[edit] Reception
The album was received warmly by most critics. Music critics from The Observer were quite impressed by the album, giving it five stars, stating the album was "bursting with so many hits that Tunstall's comic-book life is about to go stratospheric".[3] Rob Sheffield of Rolling Stone gave the album three and a half stars out of five, and noted that Tunstall's sound in the album was a "flashback" to 1997, noting some similarities between the songs on Drastic Fantastic and songs written 10 years earlier.[4]
However, some critics were less impressed, stating that the album was overproduced and lacked the "folky" touch of her previous album Eye to the Telescope. The Guardian gave it only three stars, stating "Tunstall could do better".[5]
