Doyt L. Perry (January 10, 1910--1992) was head football coach and later the athletic director at Bowling Green State University. He coached the Falcons from 1955 until 1964, at which point he became the athletic director for the university. Perry led the Falcons to five Mid-American Conference titles during his tenure as coach and one small college national championship in 1959. One of the most successful coaches in school history, Perry was elected to College Football Hall of Fame in 1988. The team's football stadium (Doyt L. Perry Stadium) is now named in his honor.
Before coming to BGSU, Perry was an assistant coach (backfield coach) at the Ohio State University, from 1952 to 1954, serving on the same staff as Woody Hayes and Bo Schembechler. He helped the Buckeyes win the Rose Bowl in 1954.
