Doug Wildey

Doug Wildey (May 2, 1922, Yonkers, New York - October 5, 1994, Las Vegas, Nevada) was a cartoonist most famous for his co-creation of the acclaimed animated television series, Jonny Quest (1964) for Hanna-Barbera Productions, and a comic book artist.
He got his start in television animation working with Alex Toth at Cambria Studios on their 1962 series Space Angel. In addition to Jonny Quest, he also co-created the Herculoids and Jana of the Jungle television properties. His other television credits include work on Marvel Super Heroes (1966), Return to the Planet of the Apes (1975), The Godzilla Power Hour (1978), Mister T (1983), and Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos (1986).
He also worked on comic book series including Jonah Hex, Sgt. Rock and Tarzan (taking over the later book from Russ Manning). He created his own western comic book character, Rio.
He created a comic strip, Ambler, that lasted about a year or 18 months in the late '60s.
