My given name is Anda. On my business card, I use Anda Djoehana Wiradikarta.
Djoehana is the surname under which I was registered when I was born in Paris in 1952, in accordance with French law which requires people to have a surname and at list one given name.
My parents are Indonesian. Most Indonesians do not have surnames and do not understand what surnames are about. Djoehana was actually my grandfather's personal name so when my father was born, he was registered by the Dutch colonial administration with his father's personal name as a last name. My grandfather himself would use Djoehana Wiradikarta in official instances.
I am a civil engineer and a petroleum engineer by training. After working 23 years in the corporate world, I now teach management at various French business schools and universities.
I have been reading books on Indonesia since my childhood so I suppose I have amassed a lot of facts and knowledge about this country.
I am a PhD candidate in management. The topic is the influence of national contexts on management based on the Indonesian case. This has led me to do intensive research on Indonesia and attend various lectures by experts from Ecole francaise d'Extreme-Orient, from the "Archipel" group at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris and from Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in France.
The first time I read a Wikipedia article on Indonesia was in the French version. This enticed me to intervene intensively on any article related to Indonesia and write mew ones. Although I believe articles on Indonesia in the English version definitely need improvement, so far I have not dared intervene on them, if only because writing in the French version already takes a lot of my time.
