[edit] Fox News Channel

Thanks for posting the warning on the anon user who keeps posting the POV edits. I was in the process of posting a similar warning when you posted. --Mhking 21:53, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia neurobiology

Thanks for the note you left on my talk page. I suspect you have me confused with someone else. There are many John Schmidts in the world. I have never met Mike Hasselmo. I agree that there is much to do at Wikipedia in the area of neurobiology. I want to make sure that you know about Wikipedia:WikiProject Neuroscience. --JWSchmidt 19:55, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Haines

Hey, good to see you. Yeah, it's not the greatest article, but it's something. It's part of a WikiProject I started. Nice to know that the DYKs really do give an article exposure. :) --Fang Aili talk 20:05, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] image deletion

I probably would have deleted it on the spot (but then, at that point, had this been a normal day I would have been at work and therefore would have ignored it). It's tagged so it'll get deleted in a bit. (Yeah, i do a lot of speedy deletes so I have a lot of people questioning them.. comes with the territory). --Fang Aili talk 18:36, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Barnstar

The Neuroscience Barnstar
This Neuroscience Barnstar has been awarded to Digfarenough for the improvement or creation of neuroscience articles. thuglasT|C 23:30, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

I just created this barnstar as a wikiproject award. Just looking around ive decided you deserve it! Feel free to pass it on to other editors in the neuroscience fieldthuglasT|C 23:30, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] re: Argh!

Hey you, long time no talk. Could you do me a favor? User:InternetHero is starting to annoy me (see edit history on Parietal lobe and talk and edit history on Episodic memory). I wonder if you could give me a neutral opinion, because it might be that the person is annoying me (sometimes s/he says things that just don't make sense..) and that his/her edits are actually fine. They're both pretty minor things; think I'm just in a bad mood. :) digfarenough (talk) 13:11, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Could you point to specific edits? Is it a content dispute, vandalism, other? I see you have tried posting at the Parietal lobe talk page; that's the right thing to do. Or you could contact InternetHero directly. Try to work out disputes yourself before coming to the big bad admin. ;) --Fang Aili talk 15:45, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] geometric distribution

(I've moved this to the end of the page where new sections are traditionally added). Mathworld agrees that there is no eit in the numerator [1]. Any particular reason to believe there should be? digfarenough (talk) 13:02, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Digfarenough, you are wrong. MathWorld does not say that. You did not read carefully.

TWO DIFFERENT geometric distributions are considered:

ONE supported on the set {0, 1, 2, 3, ...}, whose characteristic function is
 \frac{1-q}{1-qe^{it}},
and ANOTHER, supported on the set {1, 2, 3, ...} whose characteristic function is
\frac{pe^{it}}{1-pe^{it}}.
Sigh.....
I keep coming back to this talk page, and the one at negative binomial distribution, and repeating this point over and over and over and over, again and again and again and again....
This article is very explicit in saying right at the beginning that TWO DIFFERENT geometric distributions should not be confused with each other. Michael Hardy 19:54, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edits on Egg (food)

Thanks for catching me on the calories/Calories thing. The original edits had calories with a lowercase 'c,' so I put in joules. Had I known it was really supposed to be Calories with an uppercase 'c,' I would have left them as kilojoules. I know kilojoules and joules aren't the same, but 60 calories is roughly 250 joules, which is why I made that edit. Just shows the importance of capitalization, doesn't it? --clpo13 23:33, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Memory/Wilson's

Thanks for the reference. I figure anything from the ATA is going to be far better than the miscellaneous websites that came up first in the google search (which is kind of too bad; it almost inspires me to make a wikipedia entry just to say that it is a "so called" syndrome, but I don't have time for that fight). Based on this, I certainly will not re-add Wilson's syndrome to the memory page. Edhubbard 19:22, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
