He was a star at NC State, leading them to the 1957 ACC Championship in his senior year. In the final game, Dick Christy scored all 29 points in a 29-26 win over the University of South Carolina to seal the championship. Christy scored the winning points on a field goal with no time left on the clock; it was the only field goal of his college career.
