Dheng is situated 25 km. away from Sitamarhi on the bank of holy river Baghmati, which is connected to district center via meter-gauge rail network Sitamarhi- Narkatiaganj. In the east of Dheng is Maniyari and Vasant Gachhi Tola, in west Bel, Bengahi and Adamwan, in north Nepal and Jamla, in south Gamhariya and Kharahia tola. People living in this village practice Hinduism. There are four temples in the village, two of them devoted to each lord Krishna and Hanuman. The Dheng gate which is on the east entrance of the village is one of the good example of Architect. There is one primary school in the village with library facility operated by youths. Dheng is the north-most village of India on the border with Nepal. Dheng is like a junction for Sitamarhi-Bairgania road link, these days construction of a road bridge is going on in the village(that will be known as BANSI SETHU). This construction will be a milestone in connecting two important towns Sitamarhi and Bairgania.Most of the people are involved in Agriculture and Animal husbandry. Literacy rate of the village is quite low and the absence of secondary level small scale industry is main cause of poverty and unemployment of the village. A major sum of youths works in Delhi, Kolkata and Punjab as migrant labours.

This is one of the most flood prone villages of Sitamarhi. In older days Dheng Railway Station was situated in this village but later due to frequent flood problem the station is shifted to a nearby village Barharwa, which is one and half kilometer away from the center of the village.
Important agricultural products: Sugarcane, Paddy, Wheat, Lentils, Maize, Pointed gourd, Potato, Banana, Onion, Mango and Milk.
