Dexter Freebish is an Austin, Texas USA based band consisting of lead singer Rob Kyle, guitars of Scott Romig and Charles Martin, bass and vocals of Chris Lowe, and the drums of Rob Schilz. They have released two albums.

The band were originally named "The Twigs" while starting out in Austin, but they later changed it to Dexter Freebish. The name comes from "Dexter Freebish's Electric Roller Ride", the name of a roller coaster at Astroworld theme park in Houston.
In 1999, they won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest Song of the Year for their song “Leaving Town," picked from about 27,000 entries. They eventually signed with Capitol Records and they recorded their first full-length album in 2000 titled "A Life of Saturdays." The song "Leaving Town" and their second single "My Madonna" began to get a good amount of radio play. "Leaving Town" was featured in an episode of MTV's Daria, and they were invited to play for the U.S. Navy stationed in Spain, Italy, and Bahrain.
In 2001, Dexter Freebish contributed a live performance of their song "My Madonna" to the charity album Live in the X Lounge IV.
Soon after this, Dexter Freebish decided to part ways with Capitol Records, due to creative differences. Their second album "Tripped Into Divine" was released independently.
Their songs have been featured in several video games, mostly in the famous videogame label, Electronic Arts, like "Ghosts" in Tiger Woods 2004, "Save Me" featured in Superman Retuns, and both "Falling Down" and "Life of Saturdays" in NHL 2004. Their song "Pretty People" was also re-recorded in Simlish for Maxis-Electronic Arts game The Sims 2: University.
