Deutschneudorf is a municipality in the district Mittlerer Erzgebirgskreis, in Saxony, Germany.
Deutschneudorf is also the site of a current dig in search of treasures looted by the Nazis. This site, an abandoned copper mine in the Ore mountains, was identified by radar scans as having a large amount of dense metal (believed to be too dense for copper). On Feb. 28, 2008, it was reported by CNN and others that digging had halted due to a disagreement between the two leaders of the dig. It has been said that the contents of the Amber room may also be found in this mine, though such speculation always looms over any hunt for stolen Nazi artifacts.
