ISYS:Desktop

ISYS:desktop 8 is an enterprise-class desktop search tool designed to find information on individual PCs as well as across corporate networks, databases and proprietary systems. It was originally introduced in 1989 by ISYS Search Software as a search and retrieval tool for DOS. It differentiates itself from today's popular consumer desktop search applications by providing the level of functionality required in a business environment.

This includes broad foreign language and file format support (emails, Office documents, databases, legacy formats, etc.); sophisticated query methods, such as Boolean, proximity and fielded search options; and the classification, taxonomy and customization tools required to make desktop search as relevant as possible in a corporate environment (broad administrative capabilities, post-query processing, custom synonyms, intelligent agents).

ISYS:desktop is used by many different organizations to accurately pinpoint the information stored across their content repositories. Some examples include police departments and intelligence organizations that need to search case files, interviews, evidence and databases. Legal practitioners use ISYS:desktop to search brief banks, court transcripts, legislation and testimonials. Government organizations use the software to search records, policies, databases and minutes of meetings.
