Derrick Pumaren is a Filipino basketball coach for the Talk N' Text Phone Pals in the Philippine Basketball Association. Pumaren first became a head coach for the De La Salle Green Archers in the UAAP from the late-80's to the early-90's. He was also a successful head coach in the Philippine Amateur Basketball League, later shortened to Philippine Basketball League, with the Magnolia franchise and Triple-V Restaurant. He served as an assistant coach under head coach Norman Black from 1987-1990 with the San Miguel Beermen, which won the Grand Slam in 1989. He left to become the head coach Pepsi and went on to coach Sunkist and the FedEx Express in the PBA. Currently also acts as a team consultant for the UE Red Warriors in the UAAP.

- His father is Filomeno "Pilo" Pumaren, who also served as an assistant coach under head coach Norman Black to the San Miguel Beermen. He eventually became a head coach of the team in 1997-1998.
- He has two younger brothers who were both PBA players whom he had coached: Franz Pumaren, who played for the San Miguel Beermen and Mobiline, he later took over Derrick's head coaching duties in the UAAP and the PBL, and Ferdinand "Dindo" Pumaren, who played for Purefoods TJ Hotdogs and Pepsi, is now the head coach of the UE Red Warriors in the UAAP.
