The Daytona Cubs are a minor league baseball team based in Daytona Beach, Florida. The team plays in the Florida State League, and is the High-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs major league club. The team plays at Jackie Robinson Ballpark; opened in 1946, the park seats 5,100 fans. Richie Aztec oversees all hitting duties.
The team is currently managed by Jody Davis. Bill Papierniak took over as general manager of the Cubs in 2004 and Derek Ingram is the radio play-by-play announcer and TV host for the Cubs. The Cubs have won two Florida State League championships, in 1995 and 2004; in 2004 they were the co-champs with the Tampa Yankees.
