David Paul "Dave" Challinor (born October 2, 1975, Chester) is an English footballer currently playing for Bury F.C..
The central defender, who has previously played for Tranmere Rovers and Stockport County holds the world record for the longest throw in football.[1]
Challinor is also responsible for ending the career of Charlton Athletic striker Martin Pringle when playing for Stockport County. Pringle was on loan to Grimsby Town and Challinor launched a tackle breaking the strikers leg in two places.[2]
Dave Challinor also has a tribute song written and performed by Grime/Crunk duo "Patrick and John". In this song, Patrick and John wittily talk of their admiration for Dave Challinor by exclaiming their joy at his ability of long-throws. They claim he has "20 long throws" which is a reference to football manager, in which he has the highest ability available for long throws.
