Daryl E. Johnson (born August 11, 1946, in Richmond, Virginia) is a former American Football League Defensive back drafted 1968 in the 8th round. Playing for the Boston Patriots (1968-1971). 1968 American Football League, Boston Patriots; 1970 National Football League, Boston Patriots and 1971 National Football League, New England Patriots.
Johnson attended Maggie L. Walker High School in Richmond, Virginia and attended Morgan State University where in 1967 he was named 1st Team Maryland All-State Quarterback, 1st Team All-C.I.A.A. Quarterback, and 1st Team Pittsburgh Courier Black All-American Defensive Back. Johnson was also named the 1967 NCAA Small College Player of the Year presented by The Pigskin Club of Washington, D.C.
Johnson was named to the Boston Patriots 1960s All-Decade Team.
Johnson is happily married to Helen Griffin. He has two children, Deron who is in the import business and Brandi who is a college administrator.
