Dan Matovina

Dan Matovina (born October 10, 1957) is a recording engineer, record producer, author, and music agent.
Matovina was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Beginning in the early 1980s, his music engineering included artists such as New Edition, The Monkees, Manhattan Transfer, Frankie Valli, The Beach Boys, The Pandoras, James Lee Stanley, Radio Cammon, Easter, and Jigsaw Seen. His production work included House of Freaks, The Clints, Karmann, On The Air, and Blood On The Saddle.
In the early 1990s, Matovina began his research for the highly-acclaimed biography of the rock band Badfinger entitled Without You: The Tragic Story Of Badfinger (first published in 1997). Matovina was officially hired in 2003 as the music agent for The Estate Of Peter William Ham to represent the intellectual property and copyrights of Badfinger composer Pete Ham and in 2005, Matovina garnered a deal for the Estate with Bug Music Ltd.[1] to administrate Ham's U.S. copyrights which were formerly controlled by The Beatles' Apple Corps Ltd. Matovina now works with Bug Music Ltd. to secure the licensing deals.
Amongst the publishing deals Matovina has helped secure have been song placements in the films The Departed, Get Smart, My Sexiest Year, Rules of Attraction and The In-Laws; television programs such as The Sopranos, The Simpsons, The O.C., Oprah Winfrey, The View, and VH1's Behind The Music: Badfinger; and advertisements with the NBA and BJ's Wholesale Club.
Matovina unearthed previously unknown recordings of Pete Ham in the early 1990s. He later compiled and produced some of the recordings for release on Rykodisc for the CDs 7 Park Avenue (1997) and Golders Green (1999).
Matovina has contributed consulting, liner and mastering work for the CDs The Very Best Of Badfinger, Head First, and several compilations with The Iveys (pre-Badfinger)[2][3]. He has also been hired as a consultant for a number of television and radio programs related to the subject of Badfinger.
