Daisy Kenyon (1947) is a romantic melodrama directed by Otto Preminger. Based on the 1945 novel by Elizabeth Janeway, the film stars Joan Crawford, Henry Fonda, and Dana Andrews as three people involved in a romantic triangle in postwar New York City.

Daisy Kenyon (Crawford) is a commercial artist working in Manhattan. She is involved in an affair with a married lawyer, Dan O'Mara (Andrews). She then meets a single man, Peter Lapham (Fonda), and decides to marry him, although she is still in love with Dan. Dan then divorces his wife and tries to convince Daisy to leave Peter. The film, slick and sophisticated on the surface, also contains a troubling subplot regarding child abuse. There are hints throughout the film that O'Mara's children are suffering physical abuse from his hysterical wife, and there is certainly more than a hint of psychological damage to the children.
