Note: This template has recently undergone major revisions. If you spot anything which you think may need correcting, please feel free to mention it on the talk page.
The {{Comicsproj}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:
{{Comicsproj |small= |nested |class= |importance= |A-Class= |attention= |auto= |cleanup= |fiction= |future= |image= |photo= |infobox= |collaboration-candidate= |past-collaboration= |peer-review= |old-peer-review= |rfc= <!-- B-Class checklist --> <!-- 1. It is suitably referenced, and all major points are appropriately cited. --> |B-Class-1= <!-- 2. It reasonably covers the topic, and does not contain major omissions or inaccuracies. --> |B-Class-2= <!-- 3. It has a defined structure, including a lead section and one or more sections of content. --> |B-Class-3= <!-- 4. It is free from major grammatical errors. --> |B-Class-4= <!-- 5. It contains appropriate supporting materials, such as an infobox, images, or diagrams. --> |B-Class-5= <!-- Portals --> |portal1-name= |portal1-link= |portal2-name= |portal2-link= |portal3-name= |portal3-link= |portal4-name= |portal4-link= |portal5-name= |portal5-link= <!-- Work groups (general topics) --> |Creators= |Strips= |Web= <!-- Work groups (national and regional topics) --> |British= |Euro= |US= |World= <!-- Work groups (publisher topics) --> |DC= |Marvel= }}
General parameters:
- small – "yes" if the banner should be rendered in its miniature size; this should be used sparingly and only on crowded talk pages for the time being.
- nested – "yes" if the banner is being used in conjunction with {{WikiProjectBannerShell}}.
- class – a rating of the article's quality; see the assessment department for more details.
- importance – a rating of the article's importance; see the assessment department for more details.
- A-Class – Currently reserved for future usage.
- attention – "yes" if the article requires immediate attention; this should be used sparingly.
- auto – "yes" if the article has been automatically assessed by a bot. Typically applies to stub articles only.
- cleanup – "yes" if the article requires general cleaning up. Please detail what aspects of the article require clean-up on the article's talk page, otherwise the tag can be removed without redress to the problems.
- fiction – "yes" if the article needs rewriting to maintain an out of universe approach per Wikipedia:Writing about fiction.
- future - "yes" if the article contains discussion of comics that have been announced but are currently unpublished. Such articles should avoid recentism and statements that will date quickly.
- image or photo – "yes" if the article requires an image, which should be added per guidance.
- infobox – "yes" if the article needs an infobox added or updated.
- collaboration-candidate – "yes" if the article is currently a candidate for the project's Collaboration of the Month.
- past-collaboration – if the article was previously a Collaboration of the Month, the dash-separated dates of the collaboration period; must be left blank otherwise.
- peer-review – "yes" if the article is currently listed on the project's peer review department.
- old-peer-review – "yes" if the article was previously listed on the project's peer review department.
- rfc - "yes" if there is an issue regarding the article which is being discussed upon the talk page and further comments are required.
B-Class checklist (available only for articles rated as "Stub-Class", "Start-Class", or "B-Class"—see the assessment department for more details):
- B-Class-1 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #1 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- B-Class-2 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #2 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- B-Class-3 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #3 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- B-Class-4 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #4 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- B-Class-5 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #5 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
Portals:
- portalX-name – if the article has been selected for use on a portal, the name of that portal. The name should be given without any formatting or namespace prefixes; thus, Portal:Comics is given as "|portal1-name=Comics". Up to five different portals may be specified, via the parameters portal1-name through portal5-name.
- portalX-link – the portal subpage location where the article may be found on the corresponding portal. This should be given as a pure unlinked subpage name; thus, Portal:Comics/Featured article/9 is given as "|portal1-link=Featured article/9".
- Creators or Creators-work-group – "yes" if the article is supported by the Comics creators work group.
- Strips or Strips-work-group – "yes" if the article is supported by the Comic strips work group.
- Web or Web-work-group – "yes" if the article is supported by the Webcomics work group.
Work groups (nations and regions):
- British or British-work-group – "yes" if the article is supported by the British comics work group.
- Euro or European-work-group – "yes" if the article is supported by the European comics work group.
- US or US-work-group – "yes" if the article is supported by the United States comics work group.
- World or World-work-group – "yes" if the article is supported by the World comics work group.
Work groups (periods and movements):
- DC or DC-work-group – "yes" if the article is supported by the DC Comics work group.
- Marvel or Marvel-work-group – "yes" if the article is supported by the Marvel Comics work group.
To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.
