The College of Textile Engineering and Technology is in Bangladesh and operates under the University of Dhaka.

During the British colonial rule, in 1921, a weaving school was established in Narinda, Dhaka to meet Textile Technician Education by offering artisan level courses. It was named East Bengal Textile Institute. It was upgraded to offer a diploma course in Textile Technology and named the East Pakistan Textile Institute in 1940. In 1960, the institute was transferred to its present campus at Tejgaon Industrial Area. In 1978, the institute launched the four-year bachelor degree in Textile Technology by affiliation with the University of Dhaka and renamed the Institute the College of Textile Engineering and Technology. The first batch(Direct 4 year course)pass out from the college in the year of 1986. The college offers undergraduate courses and a four year B.Sc in Textile Technology.

At present approximately 741 students are enrolled in this college, of which around 10% are female.
Since the introduction of degree program 1,300 students have passed the B.Sc. in Textile Technology course.
