Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button 
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you!
BTW: The easiest way to start a conversation on a talk page (or pages like the village pump) is to use the + tab at the top of that page. When you added Talk:Louis_XVI_of_France#Austrian hate and Fear??, you goofed. Your header had only one equal sign on the right. This caused the server to treat the second equal sign on the left as part of the title. I corrected that problem for you. Will (Talk - contribs) 06:49, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Salut!
Thanks for your edits to the Cataphile article. I wanted to note that some of your translations from French aren't exact. For example, "carrieres" does translate to "careers", but only in the sense of working (i.e., someone might say "I am thinking about a career in translation"). But "carrieres" in the sense that you mean would be "quarry" in English. A good website for these kind of things is http://wordreference.com/ (and see http://www.wordreference.com/fren/carrieres for the example about "carrieres").
I've also tried to edit the part on tagging to be more neutral, i.e. not pro-tagging but not against either. All links go at the bottom, in the links section rather than the content section, so I left the FC link there and deleted the other. If you have other links to add, please do so! Only remember that wikipedia isn't for advertising, and every link should bring something new to the page -- either more information, or photos, history, different points of view, etc.
I put back the part about rumors, because I don't understand why you deleted it. So if you really think it doesn't belong, please explain why, either on my talk page or on the article's talk page.
And, lastly, when you edit you'll see a box at the bottom that says 'Edit summary' -- here is the place to tell other editors what you've changed in one small sentence.

- Also, about being neutral and tagging. I've edited this part once again, but if you could add more it would be appreciated. Write now the article says:
Tagging, a form of graffiti consisting in a stylized signature, is a controversial subject for cataphiles, and urban explorers in general. Some cataphiles tag but others look down it as a form of degradation.

WikiProject Newsletter n°1
Bonjour and welcome to the first WikiProject France newsletter!! It should become a monthly special of our project, but until the next issue, here are some points to consider for the month:
- In an effort to determine the active members from the inactive, all members are asked to simply sign on my special userpage.
- I have slightly rearranged and updated the Project page, putting all the featured lists in collapsible tables. This unclutteres the page and you only have to see them if you want to. Give your feelings at the talk page.
- I have made a Wikipedia advert for our project, Image:Qxz-ad108.gif, what do you think? Personally I feel the words need improving ...
- There are still map problems at Template:French commune - any help at resolving them would be greatly appreciated.
- What about starting a monthly drive? We currently have no Featured Portals (except for the Basque Portal which really isn't French any way), so how about improving Portal:France??? I don't know what's exactly wrong but the criteria can be seen at Wikipedia:Featured portal criteria.
It doesn't seem like a lot, so I hope we will still have enough problems for nexts months issue. Salut till the next issue, ChrisDHDR (17:13, 10 November 2007 (UTC)).

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Goodtimes.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. It's been one high aiming month! The French WikiProject and related pages have been aiming high for Christmas - and have received an equal number of presents in return!
- The French Portal is now a Featured Portal!!! It passed its Candidacy with 100%. Special thanks go to NYArtsnWords and all those that have made this Portal work.
- The Newsletter has made it to a second issue. You can find its page at WikiProject France/Outreach/Newsletter and its archives at WikiProject France/Outreach/Newsletter/Archives.
- A new page has been setup (WikiProject France/Links) to provide an index of the Projects/Portals pages (as well as helping newbees). When creating any pages in the Project/Portal namespace, please add them to the index page. This page also give WP:FRANCE members a handy watchlist.
- As like last time, members are asked to renew their memberships at Wikipedia:WikiProject France/Members.
- I will be on holiday when the next issue is meant to come out so could some generous person(s) please do the next issue at Wikipedia:WikiProject France/Outreach/Newsletter.

[edit] Notability of Steve Friess
A tag has been placed on Steve Friess requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

- The question is not how many articles he has written, it's how many articles have been written about him? There's thousands of "freelance journalists" out there, and most of them don't even come close to meriting an entry in an encyclopedia. Do you have non-trivial verifiable references in reliable sources to show that he meets the notability guidelines for biographies in general or creative professionals in particular? Not only was no evidence of this provided, but there was not even an assertion that he meets these guidelines, which is why the article was eligible for speedy deletion. --Finngall talk 22:00, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Coffeegirlyme. Wikipedia policy is that any article about a person who doesn't seem to be notable enough to deserve an article is deleted on sight. This is necessary to prevent people cluttering the encyclopedia with unimportant people (often themselves or their friends). Please have a look at Wikipedia:Notability to find out how notable someone has to be.
- What I suggest is that if you are working on an article about someone who is notable then you include the reason they are notable in the article as soon as possible. If you don't have that information handy then either delay starting the article or create it as a subpage of your userspace e.g. User:Cofeegirlyme/Steve Friess. Then when the article is ready you can move it to the main space.

Hi Coffeegirl
I had a look at your new version of the article. It's certainly better than the first, but in my view it's still not enough to show that he is notable. Some of the claims would possibly make him notable (first person to break the butterfly ballot story, first person to profile Yao Ming) but in my personal view they are not backed up by enough references to be credible.
The trouble with the references are:
- The first reference is by the subject and so not really useful in judging whether he was really the first person to break the story nationwide. Plus the full article is only available through subscription, so we don't really want to spend money reading it. What we really need here is an article by some other news agency saying that SF was the first person to break the story.
- The second is simply Steve's profile. How do we know it was the first? Once again we need an article from a reputable organization (not written by Steve) saying that he was the first person to do this.
- The third website isn't very useful, because there are thousand, if not millions, of websites all awarding honours to people. To be relevant we would have to be shown that the website was a well-respected organization, at least in the Vegas area. Even then a local award would probably not be evidence of notability.
My recommendation is to go and find third-party articles to back up the first two claims. If you can do that the article would stand a chance of being accepted. If not then it would probably be deleted on sight again. Even with that extra info it's survival chances might be low.
I should say that my view is not necessarily definitive - in the end it comes down to the Wikipedia community's consensus. Feel free to get some other opinions. However I would be surprised if things didn't go down the way I've indicated. Can I also suggest you try working on some other articles - it always looks bad people think you've come to Wikipedia to get one specific person included.
