Cobus Visagie

Cobus Visagie (born Wednesday 31 October 1973) is a South African rugby player. He plays tighthead prop.
Cobus attended the famous Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch and then went to study accounting at Stellenbosch University. He played for the Maties and Western Province. He earned the nickname 'drie' man, or three man because he played number 3 and always asked questions.
He won 4 Currie Cups with Western Province, the last in 2001 with a home win over The Natal Sharks. He also earned 43 Super 12 caps with The Stormers. He earned 29 caps for his country and was the cornerstone of the Springbok team that reached the 1999 World Cup Semi Final.
He worked 7 years for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Chartered Accountant, whilst playing professional rugby for Western Province and the Stormers from 1997 to 2003.
Cobus currently plays prop for the English club Saracens. He decided to further his career after he did not receive a call up for the 2003 World Cup squad.
Cobus has been touted as a trump card for National Coach Jake White to use for the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France. He is used to playing in the conditions and rotating him with current imcumbent CJ van der Linde would be a masterstroke.
Cobus also coaches rugby teams at Merchant Taylors' School, Northwood on a part-time basis, where he has been a huge hit with the players.
In May 2008, Cobus Visagie was punched in the face by Irish Flanker Neil Best.
