CMT Films is the motion picture production division of Country Music Television. Its films are usually released by fellow Viacom division Paramount Vantage.
The first film that was produced by this studio was Broken Bridges. Currently in production is the documentary on racing legend Dale Earnhardt. Titled Dale, the film will premiere in selected cities on the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series circuit beginning in February 2007 to coincide with the beginning of the Nextel Cup season. Dale will then debut on CMT in third quarter of 2007 and be released on DVD following the CMT premiere.
