Clyde railway station is a station on the Cityrail network. Its main reason for existence is as a junction for the quiet Carlingford line. The station is very close to Granville station, which has a more frequent train service.
[edit] Platforms/Service
Trains on the Western Line, South Line and Carlingford Line pass through the station, but South line services do not stop as of 2005, even though there are platforms allocated to them.
Platform 1: Terminating Platform
- Carlingford Line - terminating services. Platform 1 is rarely used for through trains to or from the City. The current track plan and working make it impossible to run trains from the City through Platform 1 at Clyde and proceed to Carlingford.
Platform 2: Up Main
- Western Line - limited stops services to Central; then to Lindfield, Gordon, Hornsby and Berowra via the North Shore Line.
Platform 3: Down Main
- Western Line - limited stops services to Blacktown, Riverstone, Richmond, Penrith and Emu Plains. Carlingford Line Trains from the City that proceed to Rosehill Racecourse & Carlingford also use this platform.
Platform 4: Up Suburban
- Western Line - limited stops services to Central; then to Lindfield, Gordon, Hornsby and Berowra via the North Shore Line. This was also formerly for South Line trains if they served the station.
Platform 5: Down Suburban
- Western Line - limited stops services to Blacktown, Riverstone, Richmond, Penrith and Emu Plains. This was also formerly for South Line trains if they served the station.
Platform 6: Formally Down Relief
- Not currently in use - this platform serves a rarely used siding from the adjacent Clyde Goods Yard. It is not electrified and does not serve CityRail trains. At 19.922km approx there is a stop block across the track stopping trains from proceeding into this platform from Auburn.
