[edit] Plot
The series focused on seven students at Havenhurst College in New England. Although the seven come from different backgrounds, circumstance led them to become friends. Had it not been cancelled, the series would have followed the friends through their four years at college.
The series dealt with the differences, both in personality and social status, of the group of friends, the challenges they faced in their first year of college, and social issues such as racism and sexism.
The pilot episode aired on January 19, 1993. Critical reaction was never strong and ratings fell steadily after the premiere. The series was cancelled and finished airing its 17 episode order on May 25. The series finale, ironically, was titled "See You in September". It was also thought that because the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210 was set to enter college in the fall of 1993, that Fox was weary of having two dramatic shows on the network set at college.
The series was created and written by John Romano and directed by Peter Horton. The show was filmed mostly at the University of Toronto.
