"You're traveling through another dimension... A dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're entering a page where shadows become substance—of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into...The No Facts Zone."

Greetings! My name is Cinemaniac! I'm not neccessarily new to Wikipedia; I've been an active, albeit unregistered, contributor since Jan. 2006. During that time, I used various IP addresses during my edits but also used a pseudonym (JS) so that other editors would at least remember me. (As the name may imply, most of my edits pertained to cinema, particularly Comedy and Animation, especially that of Warner Bros..) Not until recently did I learn that the username JS was already taken. Thus the reason for my creating an account. I hope to have a list of my contributions over the last couple of years up on this page pretty soon (in order for visitors to distinguish between me and other people using the same Internet Protocol Addresses). For now, you can just call Cinemaniac!

[edit] Why I don't archive my talk page
I don't archive my talk page, simply because I don't know how to do it. I've read the instructions, but I'm still not sure how to do it without screwing it up. Besides, I often point back to previous discussions if they are relevant to clearing up things, so I think it's more helpful in that regard.
[edit] Philosophies
“ | I'm a simple man with a simple mind. I hold a simple set of beliefs that I live by. Number one, I believe in America. I believe it exists. My gut tells me that I live there. I feel it extends from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and I strongly believe it has 50 states. ... I believe in democracy. I believe democracy is our greatest export. At least until China figures out a way to stamp it out of plastic for three cents a unit. ... I believe in pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps. I believe it is possible -- I saw this guy do it once in Cirque du Soleil. It was magical. And though I am a committed Christian, I believe that everyone has the right to their own religion, be you Hindu, Jewish, or Muslim. I believe there are infinite paths to accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. | ” |
“ | I have complete faith in the continued absurdity of whatever’s going on. | ” |
“ | I can't help it! I'm a greedy slob. It's my hobby! | ” |
“ | Centuries from now our great-great-great-grandchildren will look back at us with amazement at how we could allow such a precious achievement as the telling of a story to be shattered into smithereens by commercials -- the same amazement we feel today when we look at our ancestors for whom slavery, capital punishment, burning of witches, and the Inquisition were acceptable everyday events. | ” |
“ | In reality, there is no way to be funny without risking insult. | ” |
“ | The world would not be in such a snarl, had Marx been Groucho instead of Karl. | ” |
“ | Yes, reason has been a part of organized religion — ever since two nudists took dietary advice from a talking snake. | ” |
“ | Reality has a well-known liberal bias. | ” |
“ | Progress might have been all right once, but it has gone on too long. | ” |
“ | The meaning of life? It's nothing very special, really — Try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations. | ” |
“ | Those are my principles, and if you don't like them — well, I have others. | ” |
