[edit] Cinnaburst Chewing Gum
Despite creative and memorable advertising, including the "Burst Shark" that was frequently aired to the teenage target audience on Channel One News, as well as the underground fact that the paper wrapper could be eaten right along with the gum, the Cinnaburst company encountered trouble in 2002. Beginning in the Flavor Crystal warehouse, a fire quickly spread throughout the factory in October 2002, and irrecoverable damages forced the company to file for Chapter 10 bankruptcy. Cinnaburst can still be purchased by loyal fans through several candy websites, and the "Burst Shark" lives on in internet lore.
