Chu Shong-tin (徐尚田 1933 - ) was the third student of martial arts teacher Yip Man in the discipline of Wing Chun, and remained at Yip Man's school to become his senior instructor. He moved to Hong Kong in November of 1949. He started learning Wing Chun informally in September of 1950 and he became Yip's formal student in January of 1951. Nowadays, he teaches students selected students from all over the world, communicating with english speaking students through body language and hands on demonstration, or assisted by other Chinese students, since he doesn't speak English. Though he considers himself retired, he accepts students for the purpose of passing on his understanding of Nim Lik to ensure its survival.
He wrote the book 《詠春寶鑑》 and produced instructional DVDs.
He is known as the 'King of Siu Nim Tao', Wing Chun's most important form and its crucial foundation. He believes that more time should be given to practise Siu Nim Tao than Chum Kiu and Biu Jee.
As of October 1st 2007, Chu has visited Jim Fung's school in Sydney, Australia to privately instruct the 7 most senior level instructors of Fung's school. He has also offered private seminars to members of Fung's school.
