[edit] Career
Gentile began his professional career with Dundee United, signing professional terms in July 1998 but was released in February 2000 without appearing in the first team. He moved onto Dumbarton, playing twice in the final months of that season and in eleven league games the following season. Gentile then moved out of the senior game and had a spells with Vale of Leven, Cumbernauld United and Kilsyth Rangers before returning to Dumbarton for the 2005-06 season. Due to a niggling injury, he made only six appearances in season 2006-7, scoring two goals. He made appearances in season 2007-8, scoring one goal to date before being one of 10 players who were released at the season's conclusion in April 2008.
