The only source to this article (which contains possibly controversial accusations) is a single web site. In case someone out there is into Japanese and Korean politics, could you possibly add more widely recognized sources and/or modify the article?

[edit] 총연 vs. 총련
I wonder about the correctness of the hangeul and romanized versions of the organization's names. The Hangeul version uses the apparently South-Korean reading 총연 for the 총련 bit, and the romanized version is the Japanese version of the name, and not the Korean one. It's all a bit confusing the way it is now, so perhaps it could be tidied up by using one of those neat tables found over at Dokdo? In fact, I hope noone will protest if I add one. - I added the table and also tried to make the naming bit more understandable. In the process I had to remove some language templates that had been added around the text, because the text was marked as Japanese, yet primarily in Korean, with a Japanese name mixed in. I think it might be better to avoid the templates for this one, unless someone can use them more cleverly than I. Rōnin 03:20, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Just for clarification, although the Japanese and Korean Wikis interpret the name as 총연, the organization itself uses 총련 on its web page, reflecting the North Korean reading. I've therefore corrected the reading to 총련. Rōnin 20:17, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

These kinds of spelling issues are rampant throughout Korea, just ask President No.Isaac Crumm 03:03, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 連合会 vs. 聯合会
Same issue as before... The Japanese wikipedia uses the Japanese word 連合会 for "association", whereas Chongryon themselves use 聯合会 on their homepage when writing in kanji. I've therefore chosen to go with the word the organization itself uses. They're pronounced the same as far as I can tell. Rōnin 12:15, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ch'ongryŏnhaphoe vs. Ch'ong Ryŏnhaphoe
I can see that Ryŏnhaphoe means "association", and that whoever changed the romanization from Ch'ongryŏn Haphoe to Ch'ong Ryŏnhaphoe was right about that. However, Ch'ong doesn't seem like it can really stand on its own like that. When I looked at the Hangeul on the Korean wikipedia, they were spaced so that it made out "Ch'ongryŏnhaphoe", so I've altered the page to reflect that, Rōnin 12:15, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pictures for comparison?
I found out that I live 5 minutes from a Korean school (combination junior high/high school) which is next door to a standard Japanese high school by mere coincidence, apparently. Would pictures comparing the facilities and atmosphere of the two campuses be benefitial to this article? Smoove K 12:06, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

And to update, the school was the location of the suspected arson last month. The article listed it as a "compound" which is undoubtedly not true. Also a female student was hit with an egg the same day; I will add that in a moment. At the moment there is no real difference between the two schools I mentioned before. If there is ever another display or festival of some type I will take a picture of the scene. It's actually a pretty liberal school... I found out that they hired English teachers from my company a few years ago. They aren't worried about outside influence.Smoove K 12:35, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
