This is Nepal's first and only outdoor Sculpture Garden. Only 20 minutes from the capital of Kathmandu, 8 km away off the main road that leads to Chobhar Gorge and Pharping, the Garden is composed of modern contemporary works by leading nepali sculptor-artists. Entrance to the Garden is free. On permanent free standing display are works in stone, marble, iron, steel, copper, bronze and other durable materials. It is planned that the current number of works by established artists including Puran Khadka, Manish Lal Shrestha, S. Karki and other sculptors will be increased from 15 presently to more than 40 or 50 works. Based on the theme that the "Past is over", the Garden focusses on modern and even futuristic "avant garde" works. Located in the center of this ancient hill village (1420 metres ALT) on a site opposite the Chobhar Monastery, the Garden is open to visitors every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. except Wednesdays.
