Cheha

Cheha is one of the 77 woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Gurage Zone, Cheha is bordered on the south by Enemorina Eaner, on the west by the Oromia Region, on the north by Goro, on the east by Ezhana Wolene, and on the southeast by Gumer. Towns in Cheha include Endibir and Gubre.
This woreda covers part of the homeland of the Gurage people.
Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 164,704, of whom 84,521 were males and 80,183 were females; 6,691 or 4.06% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 6.3%. With an estimated area of 549.85 square kilometers, Cheha has an estimated population density of 299.5 people per square kilometer, which is greater than the Zone average of 278.3.[1]
