[edit] 1996 League Cup Final

Hi Chappy84

With regard to 1996 Football League Cup Final, the match was held on 24 March 1996. This was a Sunday rather than a Saturday - the year was a leap year. The League Cup Final matches have been held on Sunday (excepting replays) since 1984. Further, British Summer Time started on Sunday 31 March 1996 at 01:00. Hope this clears up the confusion. Keep up the good work! friedfish (talk) 18:51, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Brittish nationality

Why is it that you don't edit all the English wiki entries you edit (e.g. David Lucas (footballer), Ken Bates, Leeds United A.F.C.) but you feel so strongly to edit Scottish entries such as Calvin Harris? In UK law, nationality has never been used as nationality - it has been used as citizenship.

To go by definition rather than legal terminology, Oxford Dictionary states that nationality is the status of belonging to a particular nation. A nation is distinct from a state or country in that a nation is defined as any community with a distinct cultural or social background. Scotland is a nation by definition. As a student of politics and law, I can tell you that the nationality of a Scotsman is Scottish, but their citizenship is British Citizen.

If for UK entries we are to take the British nationality law (a complex law which is difficult to understand), rather than take the dictionary and political definition (which is simple to understand), then this must be a wikipedia wide decision. The United Kingdom is exactly that - a unison of two kingdoms with two seperate cultural and social histories; two nations. The UK is not a nation as there is no distinct UK culture.

I want to add that I am not a supporter of Scotland's independence. In fact I feel strongly about the union of countries; but it is essential that within the United Kingdom each of the countries are able to keep their identity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dannerz (talkcontribs) 11:05, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Images:Faithless_Melkweg.jpg and Faithless_Alexandra.jpg listed for deletion

Image:Faithless_Melkweg.jpg and image:Faithless_Alexandra.jpg, have been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. [edit] Leeds United A.F.C. records

Not everyone may share this opinion, but in my own opinion, a club record is usually limited to records the club or team set as a whole. For example, a club record may be a winning streak or a number of goals scored in a season. However, the Leeds United records article also lists records set by individual players, like Most appearances/Most goals. Personally, I would not categorise these as "club" records, but as individual records related to the club. It is for that reason that I removed the word "club" from the article's title. Feel free to move it back if you wish, but most other records/statistics articles omit the word "club" too. – PeeJay 18:46, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't really want to butt in here, but the removal of the word club is correct, because otherwise it would be there twice. I.e. Leeds United Association Football Club club records. It's new name is the correct one. Peanut4 (talk) 18:54, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
