Would welcome help in describing his work and thought.
Note that Menachem Butler is a reliable source, though it's published as a blog. Thanks. HG | Talk 17:13, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
I agree, but is there anywhere in the WP rules that say this (I could use this info for a different article). Incidentally the review mentioned is of Helmreich, World of the Yeshiva.Wolf2191 (talk) 06:26, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, but it seemed almost lashon hara to say so.
- Anyway, there is Weblog material written by well-known professional researchers writing within their field, or well-known professional journalists, may be acceptable, especially if hosted by a university or employer (a typical example is Language Log, which is already cited in several articles, e.g. Snowclone, Drudge Report). Usually, subject experts will publish in sources with greater levels of editorial control such as research journals, which should be preferred over blog entries if such sources are available. (from an essay) However, WP:BLP says: Self-published books, zines, websites, and blogs should never be used as a source for material about a living person, unless written or published by the subject of the article (see below). I would think established and named scholarly blogs could be an exception, even if via WP:IAR. I've left a question at WP:BLP about this. Thanks. HG | Talk 09:09, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
