Charles A. Kading

Charles August Kading (January 14, 1874 - June 19, 1956) was a U.S. Representative from Wisconsin.
Born in Lowell, Wisconsin, Kading attended the country schools, Lowell graded school, Horicon High School, and the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He was graduated from the law department of Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana, in 1900. He was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Watertown, Wisconsin. He was also interested in agricultural pursuits. City attorney of Watertown 1905-1912. He served as district attorney for Dodge County, Wisconsin from 1906 to 1912. He served as mayor of Watertown 1914-1916.
Kading was elected as a Republican to the Seventieth, Seventy-first, and Seventy-second Congresses (March 4, 1927-March 3, 1933). He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1932. He resumed the practice of law. He died in Watertown, Wisconsin, June 19, 1956. He was interred in Oak Hill Cemetery.
