Cercis siliquastrum - The magenta pink blossom of the Judas tree is bourne in the spring on bare shoots shortly before the leaves appear. The Judas tree sometimes also bears blossom directly on the trunk as here.
This particular tree was located on Chesterton Road, Cambridge, England, but was destroyed by a car accident in 2006.
